Eunice Lawrence wishes to greet and thank the many English students who helped her discover and shape the teaching methods presented here. Now in her early nineties she recalls the happy days at schools in west Toronto, Toronto Island and Scarborough—thirty-four years of them, many in the teaching of Grades 7 and 8 English. In her spare time she trained many award-winning school choirs who were her pride and joy.

She has written several text books and aids for teaching English. One book, a musical entitled “A Measure of Pleasure” was a spoof on the difficulties encountered during the change to the “New Math”. It still brings back memories of great fun for both performers and audiences.

She hopes this latest attempt to contribute to the teaching of English will bring happy learning to those who use it as well as the discovery of new talents which will bring them joy all their lives… a joy she herself experiences to this day.
